Olafur Eliasson

As you can see from all I posted abt him, Olafur is for sure my favourite contemporary artist of all. Olafur Eliasson is Danish, of course, and his studio is based in Berlin.
Im sure u are all know 'The weather project' installed at the London's Tate Modern in 2003.(2nd video)
The installation filled the open space of the gallery's Turbine Hall.
In this project Eliasson used humidifiers to create a fine mist in the air via a mixture of sugar and water, as well as a semi-circular disc made up of hundreds of monochromatic lamps which radiated yellow light. The ceiling of the hall was covered with a huge mirror, in which visitors could see themselves as tiny black shadows against a mass of orange light. Many visitors responded to this exhibition by lying on their backs and waving their hands and legs. The work reportedly attracted two million visitors, many of whom were repeat customers.
As the New Yorker Mag writes, his work suggests both the mental discipline of a scientist and the emotional responsibility of a poet.
There is a lyrical aura to any job that is done really well, and Eliasson distills that aura into a Platonic essence of know-how and impeccable execution. The effect is generous and contagious.
