Steve McQueen at Venice Biennale

Another good pavilion is the one made by British artist McQueen, whos innovative approach has made him the exponent of English art. I enjyed this pavillion: visitors were put into a dark room, sat for 40 minutes watching the video. It was 40 minutes of relax, outside of the crazy movement outside of the pavilion.
McQueen's powerful and emotive work both challenges and inspires audiences to reflect upon the world in which we live.
His video is made of little things and encourages you to look again, in his film we hear the sounds of the park – the chanting from the nearby football ground, and the church bells. The dogs play an important role in the movie, they are a kind of ghostly presence.
