500 days of Summer

Loved this movie so much. and some of the interiors are adorable. Summer’s apartment is colourful and electic; old-fashioned and modern with lots of DIY touches like those fairy lights with its classic blue French toile wallpaper, a jewelry tree hung with delicate origami swans and bedding.

I watched this movie directed by Wong Kar Wai a while ago. The story is about a girl called Elizabeth who tries to recover emotionally following the end of an affair. She finds comfort in the blueberry pie a boy bakes in his caefè daily despite the fact none of his customers ever order it. I loved the colours and settings of the film. its just beautiful.

Zarin, Shirin Neshat

Iranian visual artist Shirin Neshat, living in New York is known for her work in film, video and photography.
I first saw her work at the ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, Denmark where she showed a world premiere of the major video work 'Women without Men'. On screens now.
The artist has taken her inspiration for 'Women without Men' from a novel from 1989 by the Iranian author Shahrnush Parsipur.

Shutter Island

Yesterday, on a snowy tuesday night, I went to see the new Scorzese thriller-horror-B-movie 'Shutter Island' based on Dennis Lehane's novel.
I cannot deny the power of the best B movies of the past, but, when one of the best directors of the present revives such monsters, what can he expect!!!
I loved though the drammatic and vivid lights of the photography, by director Robert Richardson, who has an extraordinary tecnique of making us brood over his images...

I went!!! I finally managed to go see Avatar by genius James Cameron.
I have to say just from the heart, that I loved it! I got so much into Pandora's scenarios that when the movie ended I felt like flying, like I was connected to all people around me! It might seem a little hippy and 'flower power' but I think it's just simplistic seeying it that way. To me Cameron pointed out a really imortant aspect missing in contemporary lifestyle: living in harmony with nature, and being wise about the creatures we share the world with...
Cameron defenetly took the medium of cinema to the next level and its all enriched with poetic visual detailing such as those small graceful floating creatures that look like a cross between a blowing dandelion seed and a drifting jellyfish...

A Serious Man by Coen brothers

I went to see 'A Serious Man' last night by the Coen brothers in a lovely cosy cinema in town.
The story was both hilarious and horrific at once;
Its full of weird inconveniences that turn into miseries for the main character, Larry, who searches for clues, answers, signs...wandering what is that God wants from us? What should we expect from him? and there is no respond to any of our unanswered questions.
Worth it!
