I was looking thtrough some furniture for the interior of the restaurant and bar I'm designing and I found the Camper shop in Tokyo designed by Jaime Hayon. I'm gonna use his pending shiny lamps and the similar kind of sofas ;D Thx Jaime

DUTCHAPAN, Llove Exhibiton & Hotel in Tokyo

Something great coming to the beloved city of Tokyo, again.
Lloved is an exhibition you can go visit and a hotel where you can book a room for the night too! Located in the Shibuya-ku district, is curated by Suzanne Oxenaar (artistic director of the Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam), and it consists of 14 guest rooms, as well as a cafe and a shop, all completely refurbished by a selection of eight Dutch and Japanese designers, including Scholten & Baijings, Pieke Bergmans, Richard Hutten and Jo Nagasaka.

Ando&Eliasson

Japanese architect Tadao Ando was asked by friend and gallerist Takeo Obayashi to create a unique combination guesthouse and gallery space in collaboration with artist Olafur Eliasson. The exterior of the Tokyo space is clad in laminated glass panes that reflect light. Inside, platinum-glazed tiles created by the artist frame a courtyard that separates a bar and dining room.

The façade of an entire building in Tokyo has been covered in a pattern of QR codes that can be read by smart phones. The project by Teradadesign and Qosmo let passersby view the QR code on their cell phone to enable the display of all kinds of information, including store offerings and interactive ads.

Minor Urban Disasters by Ariel Schlesigner

At last PechaKucha night in Tokyo artist Ariel Schlesigner presented a collection of photographs documenting what he calls “minor urban disasters.” The photos were taken in different cities around the world, and show off what can happen when reality goes wrong for an instant.

Banana Vending Machines

Dole is apparently targeting younger people who live by themselves and don’t eat breakfast properly. However, Japanese etiquette traditionally considers it taboo to eat in public, so likely hungry people will purchase their banana and have to take it to their office or school for actual consumption.

Paul Smith Space

Paul Smith Space in Jingumae. At the space Paul’s art collection was exhibited for the first time in the world, showcased works from the world-famous artists including Banksy, Gio Ponti and David Hockney to young emerging artists.
The 4-storey shop features also a library with various art books and imported items around the world, and an art wall displaying Paul’s art collection selected from his shops around the world. Every June, Paul Smith Rose, a special kind of rose developed for his wife, blossoms in the garden of the shop in Jingumae.
