Teruia Yuken
I went to see the 'Can There Be Art' exhibition at the Mori Art Museum in Rappongi, showcasing a wide array of works from emerging and established Japanese artists. Here are some of the artists worth checking up.
This on top is the work by Japanese artist Teruia Yuken working on Everyday Objects such as Pizza Boxes, McDonald's bags, Flags and Toilet Paper rolls... I like his trees cut outs of disposable paper bags, showing the proof of existence of living tree.
It's an interesting thought since in japan everying you buy is wrapped in too much paper, and bags; here the artist is showing us in a poetic and non spoken way, the vast and useless ammount of paper waste in our everyday lifes.
