Iranian visual artist Shirin Neshat, living in New York is known for her work in film, video and photography. I first saw her work at the ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, Denmark where she showed a world premiere of the major video work 'Women without Men'. On screens now. The artist has taken her inspiration for 'Women without Men' from a novel from 1989 by the Iranian author Shahrnush Parsipur.
