Now Interviews by H.U.O.

This room setting deisgned by SANAA at the Venice Biennale, is a room for pausing and reflecting.'now interviews' by contemporary art curator Hans Ulrich Obrist is, as Hans says, 'a portrait of the exhibition'; its aim is to encourage viewers to listen, one by one to each participant and their projects.

All Matter has Life

Entering this world was a real pleasure, I saw some videos online before but feeling this beautiful creature reacting to human moves was really fascinating. Designed by canadian architect Philip Beesley, the installation is an intricate system of transparent acrylic pieces, covered with a network of interactive mechanisms.
'hylozoism' is an ancient saying wich believes all matter has life :)

Cloudscape

'cloudscape'is an istallation made by german climate engineering firm transsolar and japanese firm tetsuo kondo architects. It explores the poetic nature of clouds and
to fully experience the immaterial lightness of clouds, a system of ramps was created, allowing the viewers to feel and touch the clouds by physically entering it, walking over it, and back down again. a unique experience.

Those Belgians are Good!

One of the best Pavilions of the Venice Biennale Giardini this year was to me the Belgian one. Brussels based architecture firm Rotor displayed bits and pieces of used, heavily worn, fragments from public buildings. The gallery like scenography takes these overlooked architectural details to works of art.

Dutch in Venice

The Dutch Pavilion exhibition Vacant NL at the Venice Biennale is a call for the intelligent reuse of temporarily vacant buildings around the world in promoting creative enterprise. Simple idea, straight to the point. Im so glad I live in this country :)

Ando&Eliasson

Japanese architect Tadao Ando was asked by friend and gallerist Takeo Obayashi to create a unique combination guesthouse and gallery space in collaboration with artist Olafur Eliasson. The exterior of the Tokyo space is clad in laminated glass panes that reflect light. Inside, platinum-glazed tiles created by the artist frame a courtyard that separates a bar and dining room.

Feelings are Facts

The Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA) in Beijing presents the exhibition "Feelings are Facts". It is the first collaboration between Olafur Eliasson, my favourite artist in the world, and Ma Yansong, one of the most prolific Chinese architects. Together they've created an installation specially for the of UCCA’s Big Hall, uniting architecture, light and fog.
Their work invites the audience to enter an endless space of fog, with fluorescent tubes of red, green and blue; by moving through the space, the colors blend, and so the viewers create their own color spectrums.

Centre Pompidou of the South

The Centre Pompidou-Metz opened this month and it is entirely independent in its cultural choices.
Inside the building, the space is flooded with day light and the atmosphere is enhanced by a pale wood roof, white-painted walls and floors in pearl-grey polished concrete.
It looks lovely, next trip! http://www.shigerubanarchitects.com/
